About
The Cultural Heritage and Archaeological Research Group (CHARG) is part of the Cultural Heritage and Preservation Studies and African American Studies Programs at Wake Forest University. Directed by Assistant Professor and Research Associate Dr. Terry Brock, CHARG is committed to collaborating with community organizations to carry out cultural heritage and archaeological research and projects, while incorporating students into the projects. CHARG has a particular emphasis on research related to African American heritage and the applications of digital tools to the archaeological process. CHARG is committed to an empowerment model that seeks to not only collaborate with communities, but to ensure that projects are grounded in their needs, and that they learn the skills to build the knowledge to both understand and carry out the research.
CHARG hosts a number of opportunities for members of the Wake Forest University community and local community to participate in archaeological and heritage projects.
